The 3rd Sniper
New evidence has just surfaced, proving that O.J. Simpson was indeed the third sniper in the 2002 Virginia, Washington, D.C. area shootings!!! Now that's funny...I don't care who you are...
Zack is 6 years old and the only thing in my life that I've even come close to doing right. I honestly believe that if not for him, I'd be dead by now.
Larry Volz
Larry and I have played music off & on since 1971!! Along with Greg Hughes we shared our musical hopes and dreams together in Liberty, Texas. He and his family have always treated me like I was a family member. When I had joint replacement surgeries, he would drive many miles just to help me load my gear, fix my car, etc. without asking for anything in return. I am truly grateful and blessed to have him as a friend. An amazing, amazing talent. He plays several instruments very well and sings his ass off. He is also a great songwriter, engineer and producer.
George Lee
My rock & roll mentor!! One of the most creative people that I have ever met. The human dynamo! Artist, Actor, Comedian, writes screenplays. A brilliant mind and an awesome performer!! We wrote some really good rock & roll songs. I just think that we were 10 years late in joining the big picture. We spent hours and hours on the phone discussing music, art, literature, life, etc. all at the expence of ruining our marriages.
Patsy McKeehan & Jeff Crocker
They were the lead singers in "Southern Reign". We worked together for 7 years. They are also two of my best friends. Patsy has a "true" country voice that could melt the coldest heart. She is also a great entertainer. Jeff has a powerhouse voice similar to Gary Morris and Larry Gatlin. There were times that I would get lost in the middle of a song because I was listening to them sing. I am still in awe of their talents and don't have a clue as to why they never made the "big time". I miss and love you guys more than words can express.
Walter Garland
My songwititng partner. Besides my brother and my family doctor, Walter is probably the most intelligent person that I know. An extremely gifted guitarist, singer and songwriter. One of the most gifted people that I have ever had the honor to know.
Gene LeSage
Keyboardist, singer, songwriter extradorinaire!! There is no music that this guy can't play or sing. He is also a good record producer. I learned a lot of music form Geno. He's also a very good baseball player.
The Boys (Version 1)
The Collin Raye Band (The Fab 5) 1992. This version of the CRB was extremely tight and had the fire to kick every band on the road's ass!! We were playing about 200 dates a year and had a blast. I'm on the left
The Boys (Version 2) "The Salad Days"..
The Collin Raye Band (1996). This is the "slick" version of the CRB. We had a few years of being on the road under our belts and we really refined the music and vocals. I'm the guy on the right playing bass guitar
Van Coffey
Steel guitarist, songwriter, singer, guitarist. The boy plays just about anything you put in front of him, at a very high level. Van knows just about every Merle Haggard song ever recorded and sings them very well. We had some good times on the road.
Sammy "Nature Boy" Wray
"Samby" "plays" the drums. It's good thing that he sings like an angel, because he can and will mess up a song on drums. He's the only drummer that I've ever worked with that could play drums, sing harmony and hand signal the chord progression to me all at the same time! He's weird as a "cat fart", but he is one of the kindest and most caring people I've ever known. Thanks for being there Sammy!!
Darin Favorite
A guitar playin' "bitch"!! Awesome. 'Nuff said.
Mike Cross
One of my best friends and bass guitar heroes. We became friends during our time in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is the "real deal". An unbelievable singer, songwriter, musician. A truly gifted person. If you're ever in Austin, Tx., find out where he is playing and see him!!
Tigar Bell
A child pridogy on the fiddle. I think he played fiddle with Merle Haggard when he was 8 years old! He's also a good guitarist and has two beautiful daughters. He knows 10 ways to rearrange the vocal harmonies in ANY song. A great talent.
Joe "Guido" Khoury
One of the best blues and slide guitarists I've ever heard, even if he is from Boston. He helped show me "the ropes" when I came to Nashville. We worked together briefly in 1992.
John "Jonny Roc" Peterson
A great blues/southern rock keyboardist. We met in 1985 when he was 17 and he knew about 3 blues licks. I introduced him to as much music as I could and he worked his ass off to become a wonderful blues keyboardist. A troubled soul, but a very funny guy. He helped to make the long hours on the road go by faster. Thanks for the great music that we played together, for all of the laughs, for believing and for all of the good times! I love you Jonny!!
Danny Moya
Another GREAT drummer with incredible timimg! We worked together in Southern Reign for several years. He is also very funny and taught me a lot of "cuss" words in Spanish. I haven't heard from him in years. We had great times on the road.
Jackson Hill..Nashville band that I think should make it.
Along with John Peterson, these are the original members. I got to fill in for their bass player on a few dates and had a blast. They obviously wanted someone younger to play bass.....
Jackson Hill
This is the current lineup.
Me in 1975
Nice polyester shirt!! This was when I was in the Band VOLZ. I was still in college at this time. I sure do miss that Rickenbacker bass. I can't believe that I was EVER that thin.
